Hey Sid, Depending on the University you choose, submitting or not submitting letters of recommendation can make a difference. To get into the top colleges in the U.S, letters of recommendation are a must. However, universities that don't fall among the first tier don't generally put as much emphasis on letters of recommendation. However, LORs add credibility to your profile and certainly help boost your chances of getting into the university of your choice. For any reference regarding writing letters of recommendation, check out this blog-https://ischoolconnect.com/blog/your-letter-of-recommendation-the-unsung-hero/

Hey Radhika, While choosing your Major/Minor to study abroad, you should consider these factors: Career Analysis: Check and find out the careers that could stem out of the Major you select. If you are not sure about what you want to do, make sure to choose a course that doesn't specialize too much so that you have the flexibility of choosing a variety of careers in that path. Earning Potential: Understand the prospective remittance that you could get after your bachelors to understand whether the Return on investment is worth it or not. Subjects that you love: Decide on a subject that you have an interest in. Doing a course that you don't like will eventually pull you down and hinder you from performing to the best of your abilities. It should be noted that different students will prioritize the different points mentioned based on their preferences. We at iSchoolConnect could help you make a well-informed decision to achieve your study abroad dreams. You could also contact us for further information.

Speaking test is an interview with the examiner which lasts up to 11-14 minutes. The test consists of 3 tasks. Task one is typically an introduction or an interview wherein the examiner asks the candidate for a personal introduction. The interview can go on for about 4-5 minutes. In the second task, a task card is given to the candidate containing a topic to speak on. 1 minute is given to jot down the notes and 1-2 minutes are given to talk on the given topic. At the end of the 2 minutes, the examiner can ask a couple of questions based on your topic. Task three is related to the previous task. The topic from task two is discussed in depth and in an abstract way. This task can end up for 4-5 minutes. In some cases, the speaking test is conducted on a different day. As a science graduate who is capable of pursuing both, deciding which degree to pursue, an MBA or MS, can be genuine confusion. However, it is important to remember that while both MS and MBA have their own merits, you need to choose the side that best suits your expectations and requirements. Hey Myra, For a Masters program, your tuition fees for the colleges in the US can vary from $10,000 - $90,000 and more. However, there are many ways to obtain financial aid and if not, there are simpler ways to recover from the money you invest into your education. The first thing you should do when applying for scholarship is to reach out to the colleges and enquiring about their scholarships and grants. Schools like MIT (Scholarships worth $39,339), Johns Hopkins University (Scholarships worth $35,195), Northwestern University (Scholarships worth $34,882), and many others offer various scholarships for international students. There are many helpful blogs that tell you all about the financial aid for studying abroad. I got my info from this blog- 'How to fund your education abroad'. You can take a look if you wish. Hope the answer helped!

For the USA, it is recommended to score above 6.5 in each band in order to get into a respected college. Though most colleges allow students to give either the IELTS or the TOEFL exam. Some of these universities to study an MS in Chemical engineering are Georgia State University, California Institute of Technology, Florida Institute of Technology, Eastern Michigan University, etc. For more elaborate information and guidance on the graduate admission process, you can reach out to me or even visit https://ischoolconnect.com/.

Hey Myra Applying for a US student Visa is a methodic process. Commonly, this is the procedure you can follow: Apply to colleges and get admission Pay the SEVIS I-901 fee: SEVIS stands for Student Exchange Visitor Information system. You must pay a fee of about $200 after which the college issues an I-20 form which you must present to your designated counselor at the VISA interview. Schedule and make preparations for your interview: You must now book an interview in order to get your Visa. Your interview plays a key role in determining if you get a Visa or not. Be sure to prepare for the commonly asked questions. If you want, you can read all of this and more in this blog(https://ischoolconnect.com/blog/getting-usa-f1-student-visa/) that talks about how to get your student Visa for the U.S and all the preparation that goes into it.

Hey Tara, Your tuition fees depend upon a lot of factors such as the program and the courses that you opt for. For example, the fees for studying medicine in Australia and the fees for other masters courses differ greatly. Approximately, the tuition fees for most Masters courses are between 20,000 AUD to 37,000 AUD. While the tuition fees for high-value courses like Medicine can be between 33,000 AUD to 44,000 AUD. So based on what courses you want, the tuition fees can differ. But there are many universities that offer scholarships to international students. So you could search for that as well.

Hey , Your statement of purpose(SOP) is a very important part of your university application. So here are a few things to keep in mind when rules that you should follow when you write your SOP: Don't boast of brag in your SOP. Try and make sure your content is to-the-point Make sure that if you're talking about accomplishments, you have some proof to back them up You must have a strong introduction so that it can captivate the reader and help you get selected Make sure to not write your SOPat the last minute because it can seem a little rushed These are just a few points that I can think of. There are many other important writing points that you need to keep in mind when you write this. I read about all this in this blog about 'Mistakes to avoid while writing an SOP' (https://ischoolconnect.com/blog/5-mistakes-avoid-writing-powerful-statement-of-purpose/) You should check it out!

A decision like that depends upon a variety of factors. What I can help you with is making an informed decision so here are the advantages of both: Living on campus: a. Accessibility: laboratories, gyms, libraries, etc are much more close to you. b. Social Life: Students closer to campus can spend more time there which helps to build friendships and connections in some cases. c. Security: Staying on campus with the provision of campus security, gives you a safer feeling than staying off-campus. Living off-Campus: a. Personal Liberty: students living off-campus generally enjoy more independence than those on-campus. b. Space and Privacy: for those living on campus having personal space becomes an issue as college dorms can become really noisy at times. This is a big advantage for those who like there own space. c. Availability: staying off-campus means you're exposed to much more which helps a lot. You could read more about it on this blog(https://ischoolconnect.com/blog/on-campus-vs-off-campus-what-should-international-students-choose/)

Hey Amandeep, Universities in the U.S will consider both, your M.Tech as well as B.Tech scores before they decide to give you admission in their colleges. When you apply to universities for MS in USA, already having a Masters degree and applying for a second one definitely boosts your profile and increases your chances of getting into the university of your choice. If you need suggestions on which universities to apply for MS in USA, take a look at this blog- https://ischoolconnect.com/blog/top-universities-for-ms-in-usa/

Hey Amandeep, generally top universities in USA such as MIT, Stanford, Columbia University, etc. require a minimum TOEFL score of 100 for you to get selected. That being said, having a strong profile(with good work experience, overall good scores, SOP, etc.) could definitely help you get in if you've got a lower score than that.
